An Evening with Alex and Ewa
Alexandria, Virginia - October 6th, 2001
Welcome to Ewa's kitchen.
What exactly do you mean
you don't want us to run out the back door
and in the front door
and slam doors?
Einstein (the cat) joins the crowd.
Refrigerator art.
Brandy selects entertainment for the evening.
Poor choice?
Brandy takes a picture
and Max takes a picture.
(Splice and dice.)
Beauty and the Beast (on the left), and Max.
Dinner for two.
Fun in a makeshift tent.
Alex decides to check on the grill.
Utensils.
Ewa makes a point in a discussion involving theology.
Alex makes an agitated rebuttal with a much smaller utensil.
Grilled salmon. During dinner the conversation turned
to recent events and an impending US reaction.
The opinion was voiced that perhaps the US needs
to overcome its limitations with regard to a certain threshold of violence and brutality.
I said something stupid and embarrassed myself, but I don't think Max heard me.
The salmon was very good.
Later, a little fun with ghosts.
This shadow looks frighteningly like a Jack Russel Terrier.
This is what it would look like
driving home after five Singha's
and more than my share of white wine
from a very large bottle,
which is why I didn't drive.
Finally at home, a little bit like jetlag.
